This knitting pattern for this women’s ribbed jumper was first featured in the 21 September 1940 issue of Woman’s Weekly.

The original instructions say: Worked at a tension of 7 sts to the inch in width with No.9 pins, the measurements on the diagram are attained without stretching the ribs, but owing to the elasticity of a rib pattern, this jumper will comfortably expand to a bust measurement of 38 inches.
