Woodland Friends Bunny
The Bunny knitting pattern is available in the Woodland Friends ebook of six toy animal knitting patterns, which also includes a Fox, Hedgehog, Mouse, Owlet and Squirrel. These toys also have some accessories to keep them warm on their travels: a waistcoat, scarf and a satchel bag.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted mostly on single pointed needles (not in the round), and the mouse’s tail is i-cord worked on two DPNs. A fancy faux fur yarn is used to knit the fluffy pieces for the owl, hedgehog and squirrel.
NEEDLES
A pair each of 3mm and 8mm single pointed knitting needles and 3mm DPNs (US 2.5 & 11).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Alpine Faux Fur (100% polyester, super chunky weight) and Sirdar Country Style Wool Blend DK (40% Nylon/30% Wool/30% Acrylic, DK weight); using less than a 50g skein in each shade.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, domed buttons for eyes, and buttons for the satchel bags.
SIZES
One size only - Hedgehog is 12.5cm long and Owl is 7.5cm tall, Fox and Rabbit are 14.5cm tall and Mouse and Squirrel are 14cm tall (sitting and including the ears). For the accessories the bow is approximately 3cm wide, the satchel bag is 4cm x 3cm with a 14cm strap, and the scarf is 34cm long (not including tassels).
