World's Softest Hat in Two styles
So, you love the looking of handpainted roving, but don’t know how to spin (or just don’t feel like spinning it up)? What can you do with it?
You can knit (or crochet) with it!
Yes, you can knit, and very enjoyably so, with Unspun Roving.

Sized for adults average. However, you can adjust this pattern very easily to fit any size head- just follow the instructions using the desired circumference.
You will need:
Roll-Brim Hat- 2-3 oz combed top
Earflap Hat- 2-3 oz combed top
-A set of five #10 double point needles, and a 16 inch #10 circular needle. Or, two 16 in. #10 circular needles, and no double points. (You can knit the small part at the top of the head on the two circulars)
-For the Earflap Hat only, a size I crochet hook
-Tapestry (yarn) needle
-Regular sewing needle and small amount of matching thread
needles ( 24” or longer)
-1 size 10 double point needle for bind off version 1
-a size G crochet hook and a few yards of worsted weight, smooth scrap yarn for the provisional cast on
