Woven Cable Fingerless Gloves
I wanted a design that would appeal to men. Given the response from men, this design seems to do just that. However, just as many women seem to be making it for themselves. In fact, the photo is a young women’s hand, seen in the 7.5” size.
Errata: A new version was uploaded on September 5, 2011. If you downloaded the pattern prior to that date, the correction is this:
Under the subtitle “Woven Cable Pattern”, the original version read “over 16 stitches”. That should read “Worked over 16 stitches for 7.5” and 8” sizes and over 20 stitches for 8.5” and 9” sizes.”
Alas, a third version was necessary to upload on November 16, 2011 due to errors in size 8 1/2. Actually, one error led to several more. If you have an earlier version, I suggest you just download the present correct one. However, here are the corrections for Size 8 1/2:
Little Finger: 36 sts should be put on yarn for holding
Upper Hand: total number of stitches should be 38
Middle Finger: place first 6 sts and last 6 sts of round on dpns. After the pick up and knitting, and cast on sts, the total for that finger should be 16 sts.
Index Finger: should be “place remaining 14 sts on dpns” for this size, and a total of 16 sts.
Under “Directions for Left Glove” , in the second paragraph, the total number of stitches for this size should be 47 sts.
