Wren Cowl and Mittens
When people talk about impressionist painters, we tend to think of the 19th century movement, characterized by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition and emphasis on accurate depiction of light.
We also tend to think of the famous artists like Monet, Renoir and Turner all of them dead and gone.
But impressionism is alive and well and I found a wonderful American artist, Mr Leonard Wren, who is still paining in this style today.
2 skeins of yarn will make both the mitts and the Cowl, but if you just want to make one or the other the mitts will take about half a skein and the cowl a skein and a half.
The mittens are worked from the cuff up, with a thumb gusset and they and the cowl are worked in the round.
