El chal Xana es un chal triangular asimétrico. Se empieza por una esquina y se va aumentando por un lado mientras se disminuye por el otro para que quede el tejido al bies. Tiene tres secciones de mosaico – una técnica muy sencilla para hacer dibujos de colores trabajando un solo color en cada vuelta.

Necesitarás lana de grosor fingering de 3 colores
• Color principal (CP): 100g (400m). Yo usé Chileknitz Nube Fingering, color: Slate (gris)
• Color de contraste 1 (CC1): 50g (200m). Yo usé Chileknitz Nube Fingering, color: Jeans (azul marino)
• Color de contraste 2 (CC2): 35g (140m). Yo usé Chileknitz Nube Fingering, color: Splashy (verde)

Cuando elijas colores, asegúrate que el color de contraste 2 contrasta bastante con el color principal para que resalte mejor el mosaico. Te puede venir bien hacer una foto en blanco y negro para que se vea mejor si contrasta o no.

ENGLISH:

The Xana shawl is an asymmetric triangular shawl. You start at one end and you increase on one side whilst decreasing on the other to create a fabric on the bias. The shawl has three mosaic sections – a very easy technique to create a colour pattern using only a single colour on each row.

You will need fingering weight yarn in 3 colourways:
• Main color: 100g (400m). I used Chileknitz Nube Fingering in Slate (grey)
• Contrasting colour 1: 50g (200m). I used Chileknitz Nube Fingering in Jeans (navy)
• Contrasting colour 2: 35g (140m). I used Chileknitz Nube Fingering in Splashy (green)

If you want the mosaic pattern to stand out, make sure the main colour and the contrasting colour 2 have a good contrast between them. It may be useful to take a photo in black & white which will show the contrast better.

The Xana is a mythological character from the area where I’m from: Asturias, in northern Spain. She’s a type of fairy that you can find and mountain springs and waterfalls.
