My grandmother Ksenija meant the world to me. She was wise, kind, and gentle. She was quiet but when she spoke, you listened. I had so many meaningful talks about literally anything with her. She was my favorite person in the world, and I still miss her every day.

I dedicate this design to her – granny squares best represent that feeling of warm nostalgia I get when I think of her.

Xenia tee is meant to resemble the cozy look and feeling of a classic granny square blanket, but also designed to have a fresh, modern look. It is achieved with shaping the neckline, the wide, boxy sleeves and a minimalist, decorative border on the body, sleeves, and neckline for that perfect finish.

The construction is relatively easy, and the squares are quick and fun to make. The pattern’s photo tutorial will guide you through it.

The tee is designed to be worn with 5-20 cm of positive ease (the ease varies within these numbers for different sizes).
Sizing follows CYC standards and is presented in order XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL).
The circumference of the finished garment in bust is 89 (95, 104, 112, 130, 144, 152, 166, 174) cm.

Yarn:
Fingering or light sport weight yarn (sample used Drops Safran)
About 450 (500, 550, 600, 700, 850, 1000, 1250, 1500) m of main color and 100 (100, 120, 150, 180, 180, 180, 300, 300) m of each of the 4-5 changing colors
