Yamanami Socks feature a blend of lace, cables, and textured stitches. The lace construction creates an airy fabric, perfect for warmer seasons. A sister pattern to Sazanami Scarf, Yamanami shares the same design concept but with stitch patterns designed specifically for knitting socks in the round.

Socks are worked toe-up with a gusset, heel turn, and heel flap. Video tutorial links are included. The lace patterns are charted only. Helpful tips on yarn choice, technique, and finishing, plus tutorial links throughout.

Finished Measurements (Unstretched):
Foot circumference: approx. 18.5 cm / 7.5”
Leg circumference: approx. 18 cm / 7.25”
Foot and leg length: Customizable
Stitch count in the foot: 59 sts

Note: Recommended ease: approx. 4-5 cm / 1.5-2“ of negative ease at foot circumference, 1.5 cm/0.75” of negative ease at sock sole length. The sample is shown on a 22.5 cm / 9” foot circumference.

Yarn
Fingering weight yarn: 260 m/ 285 yds

Note: Yarn used may vary depending on sole and leg length. For substitutes, a standard sock yarn in light fingering or fingering weight is recommended.

Note: Adjust needle size to obtain gauge. The sample used an 80 cm / 32” circular needle to work with the Magic Loop. Instructions assume Magic Loop with circular needles; other needles may be used, but their use is not covered.
