Nothing beats a long cowl for versatility because you can wear it so many ways. An easy slip-stitch pattern highlights the colors and textures of Maai, a springy alpaca and merino blend, and Rain, a drapey cotton yarn. Yell Island, part of the Shetland archipelago, features similar contrasts in color and texture in its rock formations and peat bogs.
