Yorkshire Striped Sock
Broadly inspired by Miss E Ryder’s ‘ How To Knit Socks’, Richmond, Yorkshire, ca. 1860s.
I knitted this child’s sock (recommended yarn ‘Andalucian’, needle size 1.75mm) in modern 4 ply sock yarn, using 2.5mm needles. It came out the right size for me (average adult).
Miss Ryder gives general instructions for knitting stripy stockings and socks, so I followed her directions from the intro to this, and her other books.
I made the heel vertically striped, to double yarn thickness there. Full pattern here:

Used leftovers so hard to quantify amounts - amounts here a guideline only.
