The cowls are knitted with either a worsted or aran weight yarn held together with a lace weight mohair/silk blend. The angled shape is made by changing the needle sizes for a looser gauge. This helps to keep the cowl close to the neck (but not tight) and opens up to sit nicely on the shoulders keeping the wearer cozy warm!
The Zaggs Split cowl is knit in the round from the neck down to the split, then worked back and forth in rows for the split rib hem. The Zigzag Stitch Pattern is quite stretchy and the actual stitch gauge is very forgiving, making for an easy fit cowl. The split hem helps the cowl sit nicely on the shoulders. Wear it with the split to the side or in the back of the neck for a comfortable fit under jackets and coats.
