This lightweight, easy to knit beanie will please just about everyone on your holiday list. You will need 3 different colours of yarn, but you will have more than enough to knit 2 beanies and have yarn left over.

If you prefer a shaped beanie, use the 6.0 mm needle for the entire hat. If you like it a bit slouchy and loose, then switch to the 6.5 mm when beginning the mosaic section.
