Ziggedy-Zag Wrap
Ziggedy-Zag is a large wrap with zig zag stripes, shaped by increases and decreases. The wrap is worked sideways along the full length (from the bottom edge to the top edge), with many stitches on the needles. The length is based on the number of stitches cast on (notes on modifications are given in the pattern).
No purl stitches are used, only knit knit knit! The perfect knit for watching tv, reading or chatting.
There are 2 versions in the pattern: The slightly “advanced” version has a straight edge, acquired by short row shaping at the beginning and end of the work. Don’t be scared off by the idea of short rows – it’s so much easier than it sounds!
Instructions are also given for an easier version without short row shaping, where the edges are following the zig zag pattern.
Yarn used: Knitter’s Kitchen BFL Sock (75% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 25% Nylon), 425 meters / 465 yards per 100g, 4 skeins.
Colorways used: C1 = “Pretty in Pink”, C2 = “Hot Pink”, C3 = “Fresh Strawberry Jam”, CC = “I Can’t See a Thing”.
Needles: 4 mm / US 6 circulars, at least 80 cm / 32 inches to accommodate a large number of sts.
Other: 23 stitch markers, one a removable one to mark beginning of RS row. Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge: Not crucial (but gauge might affect required yardage and final size) Sample uses gauge of 19 sts & 33 rows to 10 cm / 4 inches in garter stitch, after blocking.
