This asymmetrical triangular shawl can be worked in 2 sizes, as a „regular-sized“ shawl (= smaller version) or as a giant shawl to cuddle up in (= large version)

The shawl is knitted in one piece, from the tip down to the edging in 2-coloured brioche stitch. Using simple basic knitting techniques (garter stitch) it is also an ideal pattern for beginners, the final edging in 2-coloured brioche stitch with an I-cord-border gives you the opportunity to improve your knitting skills.

To knit the larger version, see images – it is about 240cm long and 180 cm wide measured along the bind-off edge– you will need 450g (exactly 444g / 1070m) in the main colour (eg. shade 512 auburn) and 200g (exactly 190g/460m) in a 2nd colour (eg. shade 598 anthracite) of the silky and shining Merino Extrafine Silky Soft by Schachenmayr or any other DK weight yarn.

For the regular size, the small version, 300g (exactly 268g/ 650m) of the main colour and 150g (exactly 130g/320m) of the 2nd colour will be sufficient. It measures about 160-170cm in length and is about 125 cm wide measured along bind-off border. I have used shades 570 fir and 598 anthracite for the second shawl (small version)

How to wear the large version: due to the special shape of this shawl it is possible to wear both sizes like a pelerine or a cape: therefore wrap the wider edge once around your shoulders , so that the edging in 2-coloured brioche stitch runs slightly above your elbow (around your shoulders if you are wearing the smaller one), then “swirl“ the shawl around your neck.

Dieses asymmetrische Dreieckstuch kann in 2 Größen gestrickt werden, einmal als „normal-großes“ Tuch (= kleineres Tuch) oder auch als Riesen-Kuscheltuch (= großes Tuch)
Das Tuch wird in einem Stück, von der Spitze bis zur Borte im 2-farbigen Patentmuster gestrickt, durch Verwendung einfacher Grundstrickarten (Kraus rechts) ist es auch ein ideales Einsteigermodell, die Abschlußborte im 2-farbigen Patenmuster mit I-Cord-Abschluß bietet die Möglichkeit die Strickkenntnisse einfach zu erweitern.
Für das große Tuch, siehe Abbildungen in Rostbraun/Anthrazit– es ist etwa 240cm lang und 180 cm weit entlang der Abkettkante – benötigt man 450g (nicht wie ursprünglich angegeben 500g) (exakt 444g / 1070 m) in Farbe 512 Rostbraun und 200g(nicht wie ursprünglich angegeben 150g) (exakt 190g/460m) in Farbe 598 Anthrazit von der seidig glänzenden Merino Extrafine Silky Soft 120 von Schachenmayr.
Für normal-große Schalgröße reichen 300g (exakt 268g/ 650m) in der Hauptfarbe und 150g (exakt 130g/320m) von der 2. Farbe aus. Es misst etwa 170cm in der Länge und ist 125 cm breit, entlang der Abkettkante gemessen. Für das 2. Tuch habe ich die Farben 570 Tanne und 598 Anthrazit verwendet.
Tragetipp: Auf Grund der speziellen Tuchform ist es bei beiden Größen möglich das Tuch ähnlich einer Pelerine oder einem Cape zu tragen: dafür zuerst den breiten Abschluß einmal rund um die Schultern legen, so dass die Borte im 2-farbigen Patent etwa oberhalb des Ellbogens verläuft (beim normal-großen Tuch rund um die Schultern), danach das restliche Tuch „schneckenförmig“ um den Hals wickeln.
