Zini
Zini-shawl is first knitted sideways to form a long shallow triangle. The border is worked top down after picking up stitches from the lower edge of the triangle. The traditional Hap-shawl yarn overs form a smooth upper edge.
Yarn
Fingering weight (384-400 m/ 419.9-437.4 yds per 100 g) yarn in two colours, 100 g of MC and 60 g of CC.
If you want to use some leftovers, the shawl body uses approximately 60 g, for the lace stripes 20 g each would be plenty enough and for the garter stripes 10-14 g should be enough.
The sample shawl was knitted with madelinetosh Merino Light, 100% Merino, 384 m/ 419.9 yds per 100 g in colourway Blouse (MC) and madelinetosh Twist Light, 75% Merino, 25% Nylon, 384 m/ 419.9 yds per 100 g in colourway Ooak (CC).
The yardage is an estimate, the sample shawl used 85 g of MC and 50 g of CC.
