This bag came about after playing around with a pile of previously completed Granny Squares. I wanted to make a bag that was different from the patterns I could already find, while still maintaining a simple construction.

What I ended up with is a modern bag, with an ode to a very classic crochet pattern.

Made from 12 Granny Squares, there are no half squares to mess with here! Add the simple lining and wood handles and you have a retro-modern twist on the basic Granny tote.

This bag can be made using any 5” Granny Squares, but I give full instructions for one of my favorites here in the pattern.
