Featuring strong lines and graphic motifs, Ziri is a crescent-shaped shawl knitted with three colours of fingering weight yarn. The geometric border is created first and worked tip-to-tip, which features a shaped zig-zag edge, contrast colour pintucks, and tactile bobbles. The long straight edge of the border is then picked up for the main body of the shawl, and a mosaic colourwork band is knitted using two colour slip-stitch. The remainder of the body is knitted with short-row shaping and a final slip-stitch detail before binding off. The shawl’s finishing touches include duplicate stitch embroidery around the border’s bobble stitches and tassels which adorn the border’s edging.
