Giving you a hand in this year’s spooky crochet creation…!

Zombie hand and fingers are worked in the round from the base of the hand and up. The thumb and eye are worked separately, then attached to the hand. Once all parts are attached, woolly tattoo embellishments are stitched on, short lengths of crochet tied onto a finger to look like rings and there’s a granny square “patch” stitched onto the thumb as well. Get creative and stitch woolly tattoos that will give your little hand it’s own personality.

YARN / YARDAGE
C1: 1 skein of Numana Yarns, Tisbury Sock (100% Non-Superwash Merino, 497 yds / 454 m – 115 g), colourway Mossy, held double. Or approx. 65 yds / 59 m sock weight yarn, held double, or 33 yds / 30 m worsted weight yarn. A small amount (less than 1 g / oz. of C1, single-stranded, is used in the eye.
C2: 1 skein of Numana Yarns, Tisbury Worsted (100% Non-Superwash Merino, 210 yds / 192 m – 115 g), colourway So Mysterious. Or approx. 128 yds / 117 m worsted weight yarn.
C3: 1 skein of Numana Yarns, Tisbury Sock (100% Non-Superwash Merino, 497 yds / 454 m – 115 g), colourway Bloom. Or approx. 22 yds / 20 m sock weight yarn.

OTHER REQUIRED MATERIALS
Small amounts of fingering – sock weight yarn used to tattoo Zombie and make accessories. In addition to Moss and Bloom, Barbury Sock Mini skeins of Power Outage (black) and Strawberry were used.

Toy stuffing (ie. polyfibre fill). Or scraps bits of waste yarn can be used as stuffing.

Hook size: US G6 / 4 mm hook for worsted weight yarn, and F5 / 3.75 mm hook for sock weight yarn or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
16 sts x 17 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm, after blocking, on US D3 / 3.25 mm hook.
A match in gauge will give a similar resulting item to the photographed samples.
