Ridding the earth of flesh eating zombies is hard work. Day to day survival and staying one step ahead of those rotting flesh bags can prove to be challenging to say the least. Here’s a fun and interesting cabled mitt to keep your hands warm and your fingers free for shooting a crossbow, welding the katana or firing your shotgun. Knit with Bohemia Fibers, Bohemian Barefoot in the zombie camouflage color way Walker, they’ll never see you coming! Cable-work detail that resembles a sutured wound, will have you fooling those brainless, shuffling geeks in no time!
Am I one of the undead?! Don’t think so sucker…Splat! An arrow right between the eyes and that infected moron didn’t even know what hit‘um. Rock that crossbow Daryl Dixon style!
So go knit yourself a pair of mitts and practice your zombie slaying skills….cuz the zombie apocalypse is coming and when it does you want to be ready!

Disclaimer - in the event that the ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE does not happen in your lifetime, these mitts are a necessary accessory to wear while viewing the Walking Dead, sipping a
zombie inspired cocktail and screaming out loud for Carl to stay in the f---ing house!

A note about cable work for those new to the technique Cable work is simply knitting stitches out of order. Don’t be intimidated…what may appear complicated is much easier than you anticipate. I’ve written out line-by-line instructions so even a newbie knitter can follow along and create this interesting detail OR if you choose not to, the mitts can be worked in plain stockinet, but I say give it a try! Cable needles aren’t scary.. ..unless you use them as a weapon!

Materials & Tools

• fingering weight yarn (approx. 200 yards)

• US size 1 ½ (2.50mm) needles - this project can be worked on DPN’s, 2 circs or a 40” circular for Magic Loop (my preferred method), just make sure to distribute your stitches evenly for working in the round

• waste yarn (for holding live stitches)

• tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)

• stitch markers

• cable needle
