Several years ago, when I wanted to interpret the look of printed polka dots for a knitted shawl I was working on, I explored the many ways there are to create circular shapes with stitches. In the process, I found several numerous techniques and thought they would translate well into a cohesive theme for a fresh and modern knitwear story.
Circles + Dots is a knitwear collection that makes use of cables and lace stitches to create three-dimensional texture and negative/positive spaces—round holes!--in two sweaters--one top down, the other bottom up--and three accessories, a slouchy hat, mitts, and a long scarf.
Quince & Co’s fine wool yarns show off the pieces’ delicate stitch details and give them a soft, wearable hand. The new techniques you’ll find here are fun for beginner knitters to learn and entertaining for seasoned knitters as well.
