This booklet is available in many editions, one of which is still current. Although the date is missing from more recent printings, the original does have the date (1985) on it.

Both patterns had already been in the Patons range before this: The square shawl … “for nearly 100 years”, and the Circular Shawl… “for many years”. They were both updated in 1985 to be knitted in either 3 ply or 2 ply.
