Sparkly Eyes and Warm Heart Collection is a collaboration with HandDyed Yarns by Charlotte Spagner!
The patterns are:
- Adorno was inspired by a Brazilian textile called “Bordado Filé”, that is a type of embroidery worked over a thread net. Adorno is a sweater with a textured circular yoke created by using different yarn weights, fibers and a cool crochet loop stitch that enhances the colorwork motif! It is super fun to knit, and its innovative colorwork stitch
motif creates a unique textured effect! The style is what I like to call, a “petite boxy” shape, where the body has a
certain amount of positive ease (not as much as a traditional boxy top) with fitted sleeves. I must say that “Petite Boxy” is one of my very favorite styles, because it dresses beautifully in any body type!

Oui, Chérie was inspired by the paintings of the danish artist Asger Jorn. It is a sweater with a circular yoke with a showstopping sequin detail at the shoulders inspired mostly by the paintings “Oui, Chérie” and “Untitled C”! It is super fun to knit, and its innovative sequin colorwork motif creates a unique textured effect! The style is what I like to call, a “petite boxy” shape, where the body has a certain amount of positive ease (not as much as a traditional boxy top) with fitted sleeves. I must say that this “petite boxy” is one of my very favorite styles, because it dresses beautifully in any body type!

Segredo was inspired by Brazilian artist Ernest Neto art installations. My favorite quote of him is “O grande segredo é que a saúde está na alegria e na dimensão espiritual” that means something like “The big secret is that health comes from joy and spiritual dimension”. For me sounds like the basic, the first step of a sustainable way of living! He is a contemporary artist, and his installations are about the connection and healing from the way that we live! His message inspired me to make a sweater out of the ordinary, with tiny sparkles of light! It is super fun to knit, and its innovative sleeve motif with sequins creates a unique textured effect! The style is what I like to call, a “petite boxy” shape, where the body has a certain amount of positive ease (not as much as a traditional boxy top) with fitted sleeves. For Segredo I choose “balloonish” sleeves (no shaping until the cuffs), to enhance the texture fabric with sequins. I must say that this “petite boxy” is one of my very favorite styles, because it dresses beautifully any body type!

Pérola means pearl in Portuguese. This cardigan is a homage to Pearl Chin, the founder of Knitty City yarn store at Manhattan Upper West Side. Pearl was one of the most supportive people that I have met, and she was the first person to encourage me to pursue a career as a knitwear designer. Even living miles away, I always feel welcome at Knitty City and I can assure that her dream to create a community is fulfilled! I miss her dearly and she is a beacon of inspiration, perseverance and strength for me every single day! So, this one is for you, Dear Pearl! I love you!
- Pérola is a modular cardigan with an all-over Crossed Stitch motif that resembles open cables! Pérola starts by knitting separated fronts from the bottom up. After shaping shoulders, we still knit the front bands for a while, enough for picking up 8 stitches from the edge of each one of them, after seaming the top of the bands together with the 3 Needles Bind Off Method. From that, the back is worked from the top down, until the hem. It is recommended to block the cardigan before seaming the sides. The sleeves are worked in the round, also from the top down, picking up stitches from the sleeve edges. It is a fun construction with a very texturized fabric.
