Knitting on the bias like this is very relaxing:

You don’t need to cast on or cast off loads of stitches.
You don’t need to “swatch” - you can just start and if it’s it not working out not much lost.
You can use most yarns.
You can even get a small scarf with less than 250m (great for handspun).
