This is a flexible pattern that works with yarn of different weights and materials. To increase the length, add additional multiples of 3 (from 305 to 308, 311, 314, etc.)

This is a crochet interpretation of a project in the Make It Yourself library, a 12-volume craft collection packed with great patterns and ideas (originally published in 1973). This particular pattern is the cover feature for Volume. 6. It’s a simple pattern, and would be easy to adapt for larger sizes or different decorative treatments.

Uses roughly 1 oz for base (2 oz including lid). Pattern works well with acrylic yarns. For a rigid bowl, use 3.25mm hook, use 3.75 for a softer, larger bowl.
