This is my take on the latest craze, ‘the messy bun’ hat!Pattern is written specifically for this type of hat, although, there are directions included if you choose to make it a ‘closed’ top.

Throw is done using One “So Fond of Rainbows” Kit from Wonderland Yarns, in the Cheshire Cat Sock/Fingering Weight (20 1-oz. mini skeins, 128 yds/skein). Each Hexagon is individually crocheted, then sewn together to create the ‘Flowers’.

Cowl is knit in a tube on circulars, with the ends then Kitchenered together.

This was designed for my littlest Granddaughter, Nora. A Cute little twist on your basic Ear Flap Cap….This pattern features a rolled brim, with the ear flaps worked in on the inside of the hat. Yarn is used DOUBLED throughout cap.

Basic ribbing is anything but basic when you use two different colorways and change “colors” every two rows. And, since you are only working 2 rows of each color each time, there is no need to cut and re-attach yarn with each color change. You can simply carry the yarns up as you go.

Note: To get the “texture” that we have, when the untwisted sections of the yarn are ON THE NEEDLE, purl those stitches. In other words…you will be knitting the untwisted sections onto the needle and then purling them off.

This pattern is designed to use DK weight yarn. Although, the vest pictured is done using 2 strands of fingering/sock weight yarn (a solid and a varigated). If you choose to go this route, you will need double the yardage. For example; If making the Size 4 vest which calls for 350 yards, you will need 350 yards of both a solid and 350 yards of ...
