Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Scarf
The Simple Shawl features an easy-to-memorize pattern that lends itself to a wide variety of yarn and needle combinations. The striped section of the scarf is knit in a simple rib variation; stitches are then picked up along the edges for the two halves of the lining, which are joined with 3 needle bind off.
Knitting: Scarf
Lancaster is knit in a simple garter stitch variation, with a little edge treatment thrown in to make it more interesting. It’s knit loosely, on large needles, and combination of yarn, stitch pattern, and big needles results in a fabric that is springy, soft, reversible, and has incredible drape.
Knitting: Christmas Stocking
Perfect for last-minute holiday knitting, the Rustic Stocking can be completed in a couple days by a motivated knitter. It is easily customized by knitting or embroidering images, names, or initials into the top (red) section.

The Tingvoll slippers are sized by changing the weight of the yarn and size of needles used. Finer yarn and smaller needles will result in smaller slippers; heavier yarn and larger needles will result in larger slippers.
Knitting: Onesies
Inspired by a vintage onesie, this adorable little garment is easy to put on fussy babies and fun to knit. Machine-washable when knit with ShibuiKnits Sock, it’ll be a favorite in any baby’s wardrobe - making it a perfect shower gift for expectant mothers.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The March pattern from Knit Purl’s 2008 Sock Club, this innovative pattern was written by local designer Kristin Spurkland. Featuring an unusual textured stitch pattern, this design is ideal for hand-painted yarns with high-contrast colors.
Knitting: Pullover
It’s taken forever, but I finally got around to making a pdf of this pattern available. No bells and whistles, just a text file. But at long last, it’s published!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Featuring a graduated rib and one asymmetrically placed cable, the Cable and Rib Wrap is simple to knit but yields dramatic results.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
The colors in this blanket are broken up into a handsome tweed by holding Sock in one semi-solid and one fluid color. The simple stitch pattern means an interesting but quick knit, as well as adds a lovely detail to any crib.
Knitting: Vest
From book: Three options, ranging from subtle to bold. Each employs the same slip stitch pattern, the difference being the number of colors used. This vest is meant to fit close, for a look that is tailored and very modern.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves, Gloves
The twisted knit pattern used for these gloves adds visual interest while also making a sturdier fabric.
Knitting: Slippers
Knit with a double strand of worsted-weight yarn on a size 8 needle, these slippers are dense and warm. Knitting this tightly does slow things down, especially on the twisted garter stitch sole, but the end result is well worth the trouble.
Knitting: Throw
Alternate gauge: 15 sts and 25 rows = approximately 4” 10 cm in pattern with two strands of yarn held together.
Knitting: Cardigan
Worked in one piece up to the armholes, this sweater features twisted stitches, mock cables, and a zipper closure— a contemporary alternative to the traditional buttoned up cardigan.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Finely knit with subtle pattern work on the leg, these elegant socks have a vintage feel.
