Winding Trail Hat has a folded rib brim (which you could shorten if you don’t want to fold it) flowing into winding cables that twist their way to the leaf shapes at the crown of the head.

Asteria Mitts feature a lattice of cables down the back of each hand, flowing in and out of the ribbing at each end. The pattern comes in one size but is stretchy to fit a range of hands. The cuff can easily be lengthened by working more rounds of the rib before beginning the cable pattern and thumb shaping.

Intended to match the Lakeshore Hat, the Lakeshore Mitts feature the same cable and rib pattern along the back of the hand.

Rhythmic repeating cables from brim to crown combine with stretchy ribbing on the Lakeshore Hat. A classic design that can be worn by anyone, it would also be a ideal introduction to cabling for beginners.

Feywood Hat is a slightly slouchy classic cabled hat that features small cables throughout the brim as well as the main body of the hat.

A classic cabled scarf, Feywood Scarf has a variety of different cable stitches to keep you interested during the knitting. Worked here in a forest green fingering weight yarn, this would be suitable for any solid or tonal color that shows off the stitch patterns.

Waterfall Mitts feature simple twisting cables (which could be worked without a cable needle), and a short cuff. Ideal for cooler days when you don’t yet need full gloves, the design was inspired by the waterfall in Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia.

I started working on the Traverse Cowl while living in one state, and finished it in another, so a name that encompassed the idea of travel just seemed to fit with this pattern.

“Fenella” is a large crescent shawl knit from the top down, with a knitted-on lace border. Fenella comes from the Celtic/Gaelic meaning “white-shouldered”, and is considered to be primarily the Scottish variant of the name, perfect for this big cosy shawl inspired by Shetland lace.

Morwen Hat features a delicately scalloped edge that forms as you knit the lace brim. The lace is a straightforward two-row repeat that is rhythmic to knit.

Ashlyn Mitts were developed because I had enough yarn remaining after making the Ashlyn Shawl sample for a pair of mitts. This uses the same lace pattern from the Ashlyn Shawl, so the two items make a lovely co-ordinating combination.

Ashlyn Shawl is a large, top-down crescent-shaped shawl featuring two complementary colors in striped sections, and a contrasting color for the lace sections. Both the stripes and the lace increase in width as the shawl grows.

The rectangular Clover Creek Shawl is a delicate lace stole that can be worn draped elegantly across the shoulders, or wrapped as a scarf to provide more warmth.

The Clover Creek Mitts use one of the same beautiful lace motifs as the Clover Creek Shawl, except in a fingering weight yarn.

This triangular shawl is knit from the bottom up, with a repeating eyelet lace pattern forming a series of V-shapes.

The Rippling Streams Cowl features a flowing lace pattern that is surprisingly straightforward to knit. It matches the Rippling Streams Mitts and would make a wonderful set when made in the same yarn.

The lace on these mitts is deceptively simple, yet elegant, and would work well in both semi-solid and lightly variegated yarns.

Southcrest Cowl is a fantastic introduction to eyelet lace, which is used here to create the eye-catching spiral pattern that flows around the cowl.

Wildmoor Mitts have a cabled pattern at the wrists, flowing smoothly into ribbing that extends for the remaining length and back into the ribbing at the fingers.

Cable Twist Scarf uses the same cable motif as Cable Twist Hat, repeated along one edge of the scarf.

Cable Twist Hat features a ribbed brim with cabling on just a single round to add some interest. It would be a great way to try out cables that aren’t just a 2-stitch crossover.

Gentian Cowl forms the final part of the matching set with Gentian Mitts and Gentian Hat, in collaboration with ULA+LIA yarns.

Gentian Hat features a ribbed brim, cables and wrapped (smocking) stitches. It is knit entirely in the round. It would make an excellent introduction to cable and wrapped stitches.
