The “Turku Beanie” was named in honor of the city of Turku, Finland. My child, Aaro, is currently spending a semester studying at the University of Turku, fulfilling a dream to return to their grandfather’s native country.

Mill Mountain is the landmark mountain for Roanoke, Virginia, near where I live. This hat is my landmark design for cables and twists, which I adore, and which are featured in this knit beanie. They match exactly the Mill Mountain Mitt pattern.
