Winter is coming whether we like it or not, so why not face it with a quick, warm and brightly colored tam. Ok, the bright part is up to you but the rest is just part of the awesomeness of this hat. After all when when winter hits, it usually goes Kersplat.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The best part of an amazing fireworks display is, for me, the finale. When you have burst upon burst of full circles of shimmering colour and sparkles. The dark sky bright with joy and flare. This was my inspiration for these shawls. Because everyday we need a little bang and a little show-off moment.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
Raewyn, named after the Canadian snowboarder Raewyn Reid, is a classically shaped beanie with a twist. Gently spiraling garter and stockinette lace leads to a labyrinth path crown. The lace patterning adds an unexpected stretch while the Cadena makes for a surprisingly warm yet light hat. Defy gravity and the cold with this quick and warm knit.

A simple wide rib beanie with a broken rib seed stitch bottom and a star burst top.

The Gilmet (gill-may) is all about thwarting tradition. At a quick glance, it is a simple tam. Upon closer inspection, the Gilmet reveals itself to have a chic deconstructed abstract lace pattern. There are no flowers here, but instead a wandering road of purls, ringing a burst of laddering eyelets that could easily be the snowflakes of a Maine...
