My Fine Wool is a soft and fine merino yarn made from 100% merino wool. The yarn is completely free from silicone and other softening additives – something unique to Gepard’s version of this classic merino yarn.

When fibres are coated with silicone, they slide easily against one another. This makes the final fabric hard to manage, as it grows with use and washing. By keeping the fibres clean, we preserve merino’s natural scale structure, and therefore its elasticity and ability to retain its shape.

My Fine Wool is a genuine natural material that breathes while retaining warm– making it suitable for everything from baby knits to men’s sweaters.

My Fine Wool is versatile and can be knitted on a wider range of needle sizes than is normally possible with such a fine merino yarn. A tighter gauge creates a compact structure with minimal tendency to grow, while a looser gauge creates lightness and drape.

Before spinning, the wool has undergone an environmentally friendly and non-toxic treatment that reduces the risk of felting and shrinking. This means the yarn can be machine washed on a wool cycle. This is NOT a superwash treatment.

We always recommend washing a swatch first using the pH-neutral soap you intend to use for the finished project, as both washing machines and soaps can vary.
The colour pallete is extensive and varied, spanning from delicate shades to deep navy. You’ll find both classic tones and current trend colours – all carefully coordinated so that they look beautiful on their own as well as combine harmoniously with one another.

You can use Kid Seta beautifully as a companion yarn. The result is an irresistibly soft knit that is much loved by knitters.
