Shetlands produce some of the softest wool of any sheep breed. They are hardy, small sheep with great character. Last year ours produced 2 natural colours for us, a dark charcoal with a hint of brown and a wonderful deep tan colour known as Moorit.

It is possible to knit the Shetland in the same garment as our Dorset 4 ply, particularly if you like to knit colourwork or Fair Isle. Each ball weighs 50g.
