The quality was created when we found an extremely talented person in Istanbul who dyes yarn by hand. We were mesmerized by the beautiful colors the first time we saw her work, and since then she’s produced the multi colored Hobbii Unicorn especially for us.

And the possibilities grow exponentially with this solid color verson: Unicorn Solid. It’s made from the exact same base of soft, extra fine merino. The solid version is not dyed by hand, and that means that the color is completely uniform. The colors for Unicorn Solid were developed in close cooperation with our color expert who hand dyes Unicorn, and she’s matched the shades with colors that are used in Unicorn. You don’t need to worry about combining the two versions because the colors will match beautifully - and the yarn is of the same great quality.

If you want to experiment with dying yarn by hand with a luxurious, quality yarn, then we recommend that you use Unicorn Solid color no. 1. It’s the exact same yarn that Unicorn is made with.

Unicorn Solid is remarkable because of the high quality. It’s a carefully balanced mix between the exquisite, fine merino wool, and the strengthening polyamide that it’s spun with. It makes Unicorn Solid durable enough that you can even use it for socks, but the comfort is still high enough that you can use it to knit the most exquisite clothes - with extra durability.

We have a little tip for you: You can get the most luxurious results if you combine Unicorn Solid with a thin strand of mohair like our Kid Silk. The fluffy silk mohair will give you knit or crocheted project extra volume and add a beautiful shine.

Unicorn Solid has received a superwash treatment and can therefore be washed in the washing machine (please note the other washing instructions).
