This is the updated version of Suoma Single. It was released in March 2023. The original woolen spun version of the yarn was sold from 2018 to 2022.

The updated version of the yarn is semi-worsted spun. Due to the changed spinning style it has slightly different yardage (new is 150 meters/164 yards, old was 205 meters/224 yards per 50 grams).

Fiber content has changed too from 100% Finnsheep to 60% Finnsheep, 40% other Finnish Wool. This gives the yarn a bit more sturdiness.

Gauge however remains the same so you can combine the two versions. You can also use the updated Suoma Single for all the lovely patterns designed for the original version of the yarn but please check how many meters/yards of yarn you need instead of skeins.

The updated yarn is even softer and more lustrous. It is made completely in Eastern Finland: spun in Nurmes from local Finnish wool and hand dyed in Kässäkerho Pom Pom’s own dyeing studio in Kuopio.
