Ooskit
Ooskit is a Scots neologism meaning “woolly” and we are very excited to introduce our own brand-new home-grown woolly yarn!
Entirely sourced, grown, and processed here in the UK, Ooskit has been developed from a signature blend of fine fleeces which have been combined into a beautiful range of natural greys. The blended fleeces are then expertly worsted spun into a plump, round, DK weight yarn, which has a surprisingly soft, smooth hand.
Ooskit is available in four subtle natural shades: Riach (a pale silver grey); Domra (a light mid grey), Horkel (a darker grey with charcoal tones), and Choffer (a deep chocolatey brown). These natural shades are the opposite of flat: each has been carefully blended to create a distinctive shade that’s both tonal and complex. In Scots, Riach is a greyish white; Domra means fog, mist, or haze, Horkel refers to rough or stormy weather and Choffer means a small stove or kiln.
