What makes Onyx unique is that it is custom spun for La Bien Aimée with a black silk core. It gives our La Bien Aimée colors a deep and complex undertone, and provides a fantastic marled effect while maintaining a bright and pigmented halo.

Like our Mohair Silk, La Bien Aimée Onyx is a soft and luxurious blend of mohair and Mulberry silk. A lace weight with almost 550 yards, it adds a lovely halo to any garment or accessory, while staying light and warm at the same time. It is perfect mixed with our other merino bases, or held together with Helix.

Add a strand of Onyx to a DK weight hat or a pair of fingerless mitts, and you instantly have a super cozy winter accessory! Onyx also adds great texture to any shawl, either held together with your yarn, or striped in for instant lightness.
