Home-grown & farm-fresh yarn!

Blended from fleeces from my Shetland flock, local fine wool fleeces, ramie, and tussah silk. The texture is crisp, airy, and full of life. Its fingering weight makes Vintage No. 6 a perfect match for open lacework shawls and lightweight summer tops.

Natural Brown is a deep, cool brown with grey undertones and subtle flecks of lustrous ramie and silk. The color comes from my dark brown Shetlands, blended with black Corriedale x Cormo fleeces from New York.

Natural Oatmeal is an ideal neutral shade, leaning more to the cool end of the spectrum. The color comes from my mioget (light brown) and fawn Shetland fleeces, blended with buttery Rambouillet fleeces from Western New Jersey.

As with all Vintage yarns, fleeces and rovings are hand-selected as the best of its kind and for the unique qualities it contributes to the final blend. I look for fibers that are are extremely soft but resistant to pilling. Minimal and gentle processing without the use of harsh chemicals means there may be the occasional bit of vegetable matter, but it also means that the yarn retains its sheepy characteristics and organic handle.
