Minor variation in thickness due to handspinning and sometimes the angora will leave a tiny slub. Super duper soft with fluffy halo

1 oz (28 gram skein) of 2 ply Hand Spun Merino / Angora Rabbit Fiber 70/30 blend yarn, custom handspun for your order, to your specifications. 9 Color Blends and your choice of 5 yarn weights.

For this yarn I am doing a light careful blending of a dyed fiber with a white angora to produce the heathered colour effect.

The Angora will lighten the overall colour a little and you will get the little bumps of white scattered throughout the yarn along with the lovely white angora halo. You will be choosing the colour that you wish to have blended with white Angora.

The dyed fiber I use for this yarn is a 100% 23 micron Merino wool. To this I add about 1/2 as much Angora Rabbit fiber. The fibers are lightly blended giving a beautiful variegated shade effect with angora halo and nubs.

This 70/30 blend allows for plenty of that beautiful halo and lovely slub of white softness without overwhelming the Merino which is so incredibly beautiful all on it’s own.

This yarn is suitable for wearing next to the skin and is especially suitable for knitting for baby. It would be lovely spun in a lace weight for a scarf or a lightweight shawl, in Sport, DK or Worsted weight for sweaters, hats and mitts, gloves, scarves, neck warmers, blankets or shawls.

Care

Please use a gently wool wash such as “Soak”. The yarn or garment made from this yarn may be hand washed in lukewarm to cold water. Gently squeeze out excess moisture, roll in a towel to release more moisture and lay flat to dry away from direct heat and sun.
