Pascuali Camel DK is an extraordinarily soft, luxurious and quite unique yarn derived from the undercoat of the iconic two-humped Bactrian camels found across the Alashan region of Inner Mongolia.  Called the ships of the desert for their endurance and ability to cope with the heat and lack of water, Bactrian camels are known for their long, lustrous hair. They have two layers of hair: guard hair, the outer one which is coarse and straight; and the undercoat, which is soft and fine. Bactrian camels face freezing winters and scorching summers, but their undercoat offers exceptional insulation, keeping them warm during the cold months and cool during the warm season. It is precisely this layer of hair (also called baby Camel hair) that we have used for our yarn.

Instead of the typical single or plied yarn, Pascuali Camel DK is a chained yarn. The texture, colour and the natural world make this sand dune-inspired yarn truly unique:

Because it is a chained yarn, Pascuali Camel DK is extraordinarily lightweight and stretchy. Garments knit with it allow free body movement yet return to their original shape making them resistant to wrinkling and sagging.  And because of the chains and how they’re locked in, it hardly pills. It is nearly as soft as cashmere with very high thermoregulating properties keeping you warm in winter and nice and cool in the summer. What´s more: Camel wool is an entirely biodegradable fibre, which means that it does not contribute to pollution when it is discarded.

Pascuali Camel DK comes in eleven rich, natural, warm colours carefully designed to captivate the varied shades  and textures of those absolutely, breathtakingly sensuous dune lines of the desert landscape. Colours #10 (Walnut) and #11 (Beige) are undyed and are the natural colour shades of camel wool.

Pascuali Camel DK ist ein außergewöhnlich weiches, luxuriöses und ziemlich einzigartiges Garn, das aus der Unterwolle der legendären zweihöckrigen baktrischen Kamele gewonnen wird, die in der Alashan-Region der Inneren Mongolei zu finden sind.

Baktrische Kamele, die aufgrund ihrer Ausdauer und Fähigkeit, die Hitze und Wassermangel ertragen zu können, die Schiffe der Wüste genannt werden, sind für ihr langes, glänzendes Haar bekannt. Sie haben zwei Haarschichten: Deckhaar, das äußere, das grob und glatt ist; und die Unterwolle, die weich und fein ist. Baktrische Kamele sind eisigen Wintern und sengenden Sommern ausgesetzt, aber ihre Unterwolle bietet eine außergewöhnliche Isolierung, die sie in den kalten Monaten warm und in der warmen Jahreszeit kühl hält. Genau diese Haarschicht (auch Baby Camel Hair genannt) haben wir für unser Garn verwendet.

Pascuali Camel DK ist nicht ein typisches einfach oder mehrfach gezwirntes Garn, sondern ein Kettengarn. Die Textur, Farbe und die natürliche Welt machen dieses von Sanddünen inspirierte Garn wirklich einzigartig:

Da es sich um ein Kettengarn handelt, ist es außergewöhnlich leicht und dehnbar. Die mit Camel DK gestrickten Kleidungsstücke ermöglichen eine freie Körperbewegung, kehren jedoch in ihre ursprüngliche Form zurück, wodurch sie knitterfrei und straff werden. Und wegen der Kettenstruktur und wie die Ketten eingeschlossen sind, pillt das Garn kaum. Es ist fast so weich wie Kaschmir mit sehr hohen thermoregulierenden Eigenschaften, die dich im Winter warm und im Sommer angenehm kühl halten. Übrigens: Kamelwolle ist eine vollständig biologisch abbaubare Faser, was bedeutet, dass sie bei der Entsorgung nicht zur Umweltverschmutzung beiträgt.

Pascuali Camel DK ist in elf reichen, natürlichen, warmen Farben erhältlich, die sorgfältig designed wurden, um die vielfältigen Schattierungen und Texturen dieser absolut atemberaubend sinnlichen Dünenlinien der Wüstenlandschaft zu fesseln. Die Farben #10 (Walnuss) und #11 (Beige) sind ungefärbt und stellen die natürlichen Farbschläge der Kamelwolle dar.
