Enterprise yarn was a 100% cotton yarn made by The Thread Mills of Chicago intended for making crochet pot holders, rugs, and other household items.

It advertised that it worked up “like lightning” at only 5 or 6 stitches per inch.

Also advertised as heavy, soft, and absorbent.

It is subtitled (The Sugar ‘n Cream Yarn). It was the precursor to the modern Sugar ‘n Cream Yarn made by Lily, except it is sport weight while modern Sugar ‘n Cream is worsted weight.

The Thread Mills Company was owned and operated by Marshall Field’s Department Store in Chicago.
