This is a 100% Corriedale wool non-superwash yarn base that has a particularly high twist for more durability. It is thus very suitable for for plastic-free socks, but, as it is simply 100% wool, also very suitable for other fine knits. The high twist makes the stitches appear slightly irregular while knitting, but they relax wonderfully when soaked and blocked after finishing.

For socks it knits up to fine socks or really thick and warm ones when held double. After testing the socks for a while I found that they wear out only slightly faster than those made with normal sock yarn. After all people have worn wool socks for hundreds of years before nylon was invented. It is always best to reinforce the parts of the sock that always wear out first, i.e. the heel, before a hole appears.
