Keybu’s name originated from a mashup of suggestions from my nephew and niece. In keeping with his name, Keybu is a funkey monkey that is not intended to fit in anywhere in the animal kingdom. Keybu is special and unique.

This is a great project to use up scraps as you only need small amounts of yarn, approximately 25 grams of yarn to complete the cover.

The Ugly Christmas Sweater Potholder pattern makes a potholder measuring around 19.5cm in diameter.

Measuring from the front, where your face would be, to the back of your head, the scoodie measures 24cm. Then, measuring from the top of your head, down, to before the scarf is added (to roughly your chin), the scoodie measures 25cm.

The pattern is written with instructions to work the mandala with colour changes. I have not listed round for round colours in the pattern, so get that stash out and have some fun. You really can’t go wrong with colours for this project.

The pattern comes with two options, both will fit a young child or adult. Option 1 (45cm / ~18 in length), the hat will be slightly shorter. To lengthen the hat, proceed with Option 2 (60cm / ~23in length)
