Hi! I’m Nicki Merrall, the designer and tutor at Being Knitterly.

I help knitters and crocheters feel happier, more confident and more comfortable through well-knitting and knitting well.

Well-knitting
I believe knitting, crochet, and stitching can be tools for wellbeing. In my special creative wellbeing sessions, I’ll encourage you to try something new, learn useful techniques and enjoy making in a relaxed, supportive and social space. These sessions are designed to help you slow down, build confidence and enjoy the process as much as the finished project.

I also run regular creative wellbeing sessions for local organisations.

Knitting well
I help you learn techniques so that you’ll genuinely love the things that you make. In my workshops, you’ll learn practical knitting and crochet techniques while making a small project.

Whether you knit or crochet left- or right-handed, I can help you to knit and crochet more comfortably, ergonomically and efficiently. I’ll help you adjust your existing style or learn a new one if that suits you better. My Being Knitterly patterns also include tips on producing items with a great finish, and many are available in versions written specifically for left- or right-handed makers.
