Vivid graphics and colors reminiscent of Southwestern décor inform Burcl’s Askim fringed shawl. Beginning with three cast-on stitches, the triangle shape increases along one side up to the top, where it ends in a colorful border; fringe is attached to the straight edge. Burcl employed the twined method of locked floats to keep the colorwork neat and tidy. Worked in Manos del Uruguay’s Alegría, it’s a veritable (sic)

Deisgner’s note: I’m not sure what happened with the description uploaded from Vogue that cuts off mid sentence. My apologies. Also, I do admit these are vivid Southwestern colors; that’s my palette. However, Askim was inspired by Norwegian woven textiles and trims.
