Pattern description from Knit Simple Magazine, Holiday 2006: “Warm and wintry, this afghan is a hybrid of crocheted snowflake medallions and knitted squares of garter-welt stitch. A crocheted perimeter is punctuated at each point with chunky tassels.”

Knit Tip: “Team up with a family member to make a true heirloom - one of you can take the knit blocks while the other crochets the medallions.”

  • 128 Chunky Solids by Cascade Yarns, 3½oz/100g balls, each approx 128yd/117m (wool)
  • 20 balls in #8686 chocolate (A)
  • 8 balls in #1130 red (B)
  • 2 balls in #3438 maize (C)
  • 1 ball in #8010 natural (D)
  • One pair size 10½ (6.5mm) needles or size to obtain gauge
  • Size L-11 (8mm) crochet hook
