Gaughan’s fitted hat, knit in Dale Garn’s soft merino/­ alpaca Cotinga, exchanges intricate colorwork for dimensional texture. The cable-and-bobble band is worked crosswise with selvage edges before the crown and earflaps are picked up, forming ridges, and knit in stockinette.
A pompom tops it off.

Cable correction:
