These are a good stash reduction project and also a good way to learn cabling or stranded knitting on a project that is big enough to work on without being overwhelming. The yarn could be as heavy as worsted/Aran without any trouble as gauge is not particularly important.

Yardage is for the Aran Pillow and is approximate. The stranded one takes about 200 yards each of 2 main colors and bits of two more colors.
