A perfect little Icelandic sweater
This simple little sweater has a very unusual construction similar to the one described by Skuli Magnusson, first bailif of Iceland, of the “perfect man’s sweater”, some time between 1760 and 1770.
The book Icelandic handknits is inspired by the knitted artifacts in the Textile Museum in Blönduós in Iceland.
Join Hélène Magnússon’s knitting tours in Iceland for an inspiring journey to the Textile Museum and the region’s many natural wonders.
The book is available in English, French, Icelandic and Danish:
Icelandic Handknits - Voyageur Press
Tricots islandais - Editions Le temps apprivoisé
Íslensk prjón - Forlagið
Strik fra Island - Turbine
