This is a super-easy cable pattern, perfect for first-time cablers, easy for long-timers. The cowl pictured was made with James C. Brett Marble Chunky, but any bulky/chunky yarn will do.

It is knitted flat, then joined to form a cowl, so when wearing it, the cables run horizontally rather than vertically. Self-striping yarn will give it that vertical stripe, if desired.
