Now in November, when the darkness feels heavy, there are few things better than preparing for an Advent mystery knit-along.
The pattern for a sock unfolds step by step throughout the Advent season, and just in time for Christmas, we have a pair of freshly knitted socks to enjoy during the delightful Christmas holidays.

About the pattern
The pattern will be a sock published on Ravelry in five clues during Advent.
The following release dates are planned:
Clue 1: 29th November
Clue 2: 1st December
Clue 3: 8th December
Clue 4: 15th December
Clue 5: 22nd December

Yarn
Merinosock 75% superwash merino/25% nylon, 400 metres per 100 g or other durable sock yarn in fingering weight, approx. 360-420 metres per 100g

Calculated metreage:
250 (270) 310 (360) 400 metres
The metreage is calculated for foot size EUR39. Note that the meterage depends on how long the foot of the sock is knitted.
Gauge
34 sts and 45 rnds = 10x10 cm in stocking stitch after blocking
Normally I recommend knitting a swatch to ensure your gauge is correct. When knitting socks, the toe can serve as a swatch, just be prepared that you might need to start the toe over again if your gauge is too different from the pattern.

Needles & Notions
4 stitch markers

1 unique stitch marker for BOR m

Tapestry needle
Needles for working on a small circumference in size to obtain gauge, e.g. circular needles of at least 80 cm, double pointed needles (DPNs), 23 cm circulars, or CrasyTrios/FlexiFlops.
When knitting the sample, gauge was obtained on 2.5 mm needles.
Note that I am a tight knitter so you may need to go down one or two needle sizes to obtain gauge.

Knit-A-Long
