These mittens are like a glowing window frost, so lacy, thin, and delicate. Beads sparkle on them like little ice crystals. However, thick inner mittens are there to keep the wearer’s hands warm. The outer lacy mittens can be taken off to save them from the harsher impacts of winter, e.g., if you fancy a snow battle.

Aglow Mittens is the first out of three patterns from the Lace Mittens for Snow Battle e-book.

A matching shawl is available: Aglow.

The mittens can be made in four sizes according to the pattern: S, M, L, and XL. The thumb gusset is worked using the ‘Life Line’ gusset method. All this assures a very comfortable fit. Use lace weight yarn for the outer mitten, and bulky yarn, or worsted weight yarn held double, for the inner mittens.

For information about sizes, measurements and yarn requirements please check the second page of the pattern located among the photos on the left.

The stitch pattern used in the mittens is based on the Lily of the Valley stitch pattern by Herbert Niebling. Of course, it is fully written out and shown in modern charts.
